I have 30 min to submit This chapter introduces you to social stratification and shows us just how our social standing greatly affects our lives. This system of inequality has occurred throughout our history and is still with us today. In this activity, I want you to be able to recognize the extent of social inequality in the media. So, let’s get started! 1) Name a TV show that you enjoy watching and give us a brief idea about the theme or the type of show it is. (4 points) 2) Assess the social level of at least 3 characters in the show. In each case, explain why you assign the character a particular social position. Do you find that many are upper-class people? Middle class people? Working class people? Poor people? Describe the patterns find. Please be organized when writing about each of these characters. (8 points) 3) Please comment on at least one of your classmates’ posts. Do not simply “agree” or “disagree”. Please pose a scholarly comment or question. (3 points) Please number each of your responses accordingly so I know what question you are responding to. Points will be deducted if it is not organized. Be sure to write in complete and grammatically correct sentences.
