the essay should have two major components. a narrative and a reflective/analysis component. avoid overuse of casual language, but can use the pronoun ” I”. give concrete physical details that helped put the reader there with you. you may try indirectly answering some of the following questions in the narrative: – what exactly happened -who was involved – where and when did it happen? – how did things look? smell, sound, taste, feel? – what were you thinking as you went through the experience? In the reflection/analysis: – what was you realization? -what were your ideas/ assumptions/ presupposition about yourself/ life / the issue before the event. – how has this realization impacted your life / interactions with others/ thinking. how will it impact your future choice. NOTE: The event should be within an isolated time frame eg. morning, afternoon or evening. it should not be an event that happened over several days or years. how did the event bring you to realization?
