Explanation

Attention deficit disorder (ADD) is a prevalent psychological disorder that is defined by a lack of attention and hyperactivity. It occurs majorly in adults. Although there is no treatment for the illness, it is cured with both medical treatment and therapy.  ADD is majorly is rampant among females than men, and does not relate with hyperreactivity. ADD is no longer a therapeutic diagnosis. Since 1994, doctors are using the term ADHD to characterize both the hyperactivity and lack of attention. Still, many guardians and adults use the term ADD when talking about both hyperreactivity and inattentive symptoms.

Many people begin their adulthood with a quest for a bright future. The progress from teenage life to adulthood was difficult when I developed attention deficit disorder. It was a challenge to both my family and me. With help from psychotherapists, my health has improved tremendously

Stress

Explanation

Stress is the body’s response to any change that needs readjustment. The human body can respond to the changes either physically, mentally or emotionally. One experiences stress from either environment, the body, and overthinking. The body is created to encounter stress and respond to it. Stress is either positive, to keep us active, instigated and aware of any danger. The body’s nervous system has a stress response nerve known as ‘the flight or fight response” that prompts psychological changes that let the body to encounter stressful circumstances and an emergency. Stress leads to distress – an adverse reaction to stress.  Distress causes the imbalance of the body’s internal equilibrium, which leads to symptoms such as panic attacks and headaches. Research shows that stress also causes or aggravate various symptoms or ailments

Being the breadwinner to my family, I underwent a lot of stree and pressure. ‘You are in a mental unit’ were words I battled to understand. How can I be healthy and require a mental admission? One minute I was at home and the next time I woke up, I was at the accident and casualty unit. The fear of the unexplained devoured me.
