Blogosphere

The blogosphere gives people a chance to view their points of view. When it comes to politics, most of the writers are concentrating on one side of the story. Bloggers air their views based on the political party they support. Those who read the blogs mostly also read the blogs that are in line with their points of view. There are no readers who read and compare both points of view. In addition, those who read the blogs are more likely to engage in politics that those who do not read.

The blogosphere has promoted civic engagement by allowing people to interact and air their different views. Leaders get a chance to see what the public thinks about them and about the party policies. These views can be used by the leaders to shape public policy and also campaign policies. In addition, those who depend on the media for political information get a chance to view different points of view.

Response to Koval

Hi Nicoll, great line of thought there, I agree with you that most of the bloggers gravitate towards a specific political party. All they do is try to discredit the other political parties. Luckily, in this digital era, anybody can have access to such blogs.  People engage in such blogs giving different points of view. Political leaders also get a chance to see what other people out there think about them and their party as a whole.

Response to Jillian

Hi Jillian, great analysis there, I agree most of the bloggers are partisan and they provide a point of view favoring their favorite party. To some point this is good in that it gives other people a chance to access to different point of views. Leaders also are exposed to the views of the public and can be able to interact with their followers on the blogosphere. They also have a chance to know what kind of criticism is there for their party.
