Thesis: For patients with chronic illnesses, end-of-life discussions are vital to comprehensive, integrated patient care; however, these conversations are oftentimes delayed until the last moment or inadequately conveyed to patients. As a result, patients (and subsequently family members), are stripped of autonomy, justice, and informed consent in determining appropriate end-of-life care.
