Levy and Tiffany portray behavioral disorders

Bradly and Levy’s families are facing severe problems with their family members. In both cases, other members cannot understand why they tend to behave the way they do. Both Levy and Tiffany portray behavioral disorders because of the stress they are going through, but unfortunately, their family members find it disgusting and are instead bitter about their characters. There is a need for the government to intervene and come up with a strategy that will see the lives of these victims saved. The government needs to come up with laws that protect these people rather than victimize the victims (Rutkow, Gable & Links, 2011). Intensive investigations about an individual needs to be done before an individual is classified as a criminal like in Tiffani’s case. The government should create as many institutions as possible where such people can receive counseling and therapy and ensure that it avails those institutions with all the necessary resources to make the process effective. There is a need to make these processes affordable by allowing those who cannot afford such services access them freely. It is necessary that each is educated and is aware of the signs and symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder so that they can detect when it happens to an individual. Including such lessons in the school curriculum, at workplaces in both rural and urban places will help deal with the problem effectively.

Sometimes depressed victims are not taken seriously, and people might mistake their behavior with just being careless and irresponsible. Coming up with protection laws will see people in situations like that of Tiffani saved. The reason why some people become worse after jail imprisonment is that they were victims, but instead the pre-existing policy classified them as criminals. When people are aware of the symptoms, they will always help a person get help as soon as possible before they lose themselves (Haugen, 2017. et al.). Taking an example of Levy’s wife, if he had detected what her husband was going through she would have been supportive enough rather than threaten to leave. We also see how effective the process became when she got to understand what was happening to Levy and Bradly families are just a few among the many families that go through such problems. Some families cannot afford the services needed to help these people due to poverty and at times the distance they had to travel to access the services. The above strategy ensures that these people are detected, protected and offered the necessary help.

 

Discussion 2.

While seeking services in an agency, it is essential to look at specific critical issues before making considerations. It is usually vital to inquire whether the agency will cater to your needs or not. It is significant to grasp whether or not the agency will provide the services effectively or whether there will be some limitations and challenges. The agency needs to have enough required resources that will enable them to cater to my needs as their client. Some agencies put up strategies and fail because they do not involve all the stakeholders in their decision-making activities. Such policies result in poor decision making and procedures that fail to address specific issues within the community. Another critical aspect to consider is whether the service providers within the agency are professionals or just regular individuals who might mishandle specific sensitive matters. It is after reviewing these questions that I can comfortably choose an agency.

Service providers need to understand their social environment fully if they want to deliver effectively. Carrying out scientific research is crucial, but there is a need to combine it with empirical data to address a client’s needs (Hawkins, Shapiro, Fagan, 2010). There is a difference between what the management thinks the community needs from what they exactly need. It is, therefore, necessary to engage them in your research to ensure that you do not come up with strategies that are not practical. Being an agency that works with families and at-risk youth, it is essential to realize the issue facing those families and teenagers within that community before formulating aid programs. The use of questionnaires, surveys and sampling might help note the different problems facing the population. Employing qualified personnel is also a way of narrowing the gap between the agency and its clients. Social workers need to be good listeners and can communicate with their clients in an understanding manner. They also need to be patient with their clients and apply emotional intelligence to ensure that they offer help to individuals. According to (Regehr et al. 2012), social workers need to adhere to the code of ethics by applying the Meta competencies and procedural skills which will help them as they interact with clients. Competent social workers are described as having a sense of personal values that they base their actions, relationships, and their work. They are aware of the values and ethics of not only the urgency but the profession of social work as well. It is critical to note that it is only through studying a client’s social environment that the agency can tell what is good for the client hence offer quality services.
