To start the assignment we all need to come up with 5 resources and list the information with them as the assignment descirbes. We are in agreance with kindergarten as grade level and I suggest we pick civics becasue it is a huge subject with lots of fun options. Concept 1: Foundations of Government PO 1. Recognize national symbols and monuments that represent American democracy and values: a. American flag b. Bald Eagle c. Statue of Liberty d. White House PO 2. Recognize the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem. PO 3. Recognize the significance of national holidays: a. Thanksgiving b. Presidents’ Day c. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day d. Constitution Day PO 4. Identify Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln as leaders of our democracy: Within your CLC group, choose a grade level and social studies topic with supporting standards to create an annotated resource list of at least 25 websites, articles, or books. Include the following: – Title – Author – Publisher and year – Genre Description of how and why the resource supports teaching social studies content What contextual factors would support selection of the type, genre, and content of the resource selected?
