Mammography and HPV

Mammography is a type of X-ray carried out on the breast. It is as a screening tool for detecting breast cancer. The screening is usually accompanied by regular clinical and breast examination. Most medical experts recommend a mammogram for only women with 40 years and above. In most cases, the Cancer Society recommends routine mammography screening for women who have attained the age of 45 years. Doctors may sometimes recommend early screening for those with a medical history involving breast cancer. Women from families with breast cancer history may also start early detection.  In this case, the woman is only 28 years old. Her medical history does not show signs of breast cancer. In this case, her family is not mentioned to have a history of breast cancer. Mammography was, therefore, contraindicated because of her age, non-existence of breast cancer in her medical history and her family.

Sexual promiscuity is known to lead to HPV, which can eventually cause cervical cancer. Most young women are vulnerable to HPV particularly those keeping multiple sex partners. Early involvement in sex and having multiple partners enhance the risk of HPV. Keeping numerous partners is considered a threat because some of them may also have other sex partners simultaneously. Men who also have sex with fellow men increases the risk. In the case, the woman is said to have been keeping multiple partners since she was just 14 years old. Her level of sexual promiscuity is was very high which could have easily led to HPV. According to gynecologists, women who experience sex earlier and with multiple partners develop cervical cancer than those who suffer sex later with single partners. Therefore, sexual promiscuity may lead to HPV which could eventually cause cervical cancer.
