Political Campaign Speech

Good afternoon,

Ladies and gentlemen, it is a new dawn. Great Canadian Political Party (GCPP) is a vehicle that will deliver the people of Canada to the Promised Land. Aboriginal people have been sidelined in the national development agenda for so long. But thank God, a bream of hope is now eminent. I take this opportunity to thank you for availing yourself in this noble course. I know you all came here because you know that together we can transform Canada to a country of great economic prosperity and high standards of social equality. We are now embarking on a journey of making Canada a country where very one of us will enjoy, and I am sure together we can make this dream come true (Faucheux, 2003). I believe that as one people we will make it to the Promised Land. In fact, Great Canadian Political Party (GCPP) will make great history to this great land of Canada (Trent, Friedenberg & Denton, 2011).

For many years, Canada has been a country where essential core issues such as generosity, respect and fairness are our trade mark. However, the past administrations have failed us in maintaining these core values that we have dreamt of for so long. The aboriginal people have been treated as lesser citizens especially in terms of political and economic development of this country. Social injustices in this country have been very prevalent and as a party we will strive to ensure equality in this country (Cook & Lindau, 2000). I know you together with your family members are wondering what we are going to do about this vice. But I am convinced that as a party we have the key to having a reconciled state. As a nation of different diversity, it is imperative that we cultivate this diversity for the benefit of the economic, social, and cultural prosperity of the country. Aboriginal people are not less citizens and it is essential that we include them in the development of this country.

For more than a century, the Aboriginals have been sidelined in the matters of nation building. This is a clear indication that we as a country have a lot of unfinished business. It is therefore imperative that we engage together in nation-building and rebuilding. As a party, we will strive for a nation where the government works together with the indigenous people of Canada towards better country.  A good relationship between the government and the indigenous will be built on trust, recognition and respect of all the involved parties. With the leadership of the party, I am more than convinced that status quo will come to an end. The aboriginal people of Canada will be highly integrated in the management of government affairs to bring to an end the inequalities and social segregation that the community has experienced for several years.  To ensure that this objective is realized, the party will set up a committee that will spearhead the management of the aboriginal people of Canada.

Great Canadian Political Party (GCPP) will do what the previous regimes have failed to accomplish in almost two centuries within five years. The party will be proactive in mending the damaged relationship that the aboriginal people of Canada have had with the previous governments. The party will restore broken trust and support of the indigenous communities in realizing their utmost potential. As a party, we are convinced that every citizen has a role to play in the national development and prosperity (Trent, Friedenberg & Denton, 2011). A committee of experts will be put in place within the first years of the party administration. This task force will have the responsibility of setting priorities and develop solutions to the endless number of challenges that the aboriginals face in this country (Cook & Lindau, 2000). It is my sincere hope that such a taskforce will be essential in closing the unacceptable inequality gap that the country has experienced for several decades.  It is imperative noting that the only way to success is only through uniting people for a common purpose. Contrary, divisions and segregation of people will only lead to failure and mediocrity. It is therefore my sincere hope that you are willing to work together with the party for the overall success of the country. Unity of purpose will be the only way that we achieve success and accomplish our goals.

It is unfortunate that all the past regimes have practiced segregation and social inequalities all through. As a result, these governments have failed us terribly as a state. The regimes have been the slowest agents of the much needed change in this country. People of Canada, especially the Aboriginals, have faced serious problems which the governments have failed to address.  Matters of health, education and safe drinking water are some of the challenges that are getting worse every day. However, all is not lost. Canada is a great country and a bright future is in waiting. Great Canadian Political Party (GCPP) is the highway of the much anticipated change that the great people of Canada have been waiting for.

Over the years, we have experienced two Canadas one for the indigenous and another for the other Canadians. However, the objective of Great Canadian Political Party (GCPP) is to ensure that the gap that has been in existent over the years will be a thing of the past. As a party, we have a well outlined guideline on how to close the gap that has been a great barrier to national cohesion. To start with, the party intends to strengthen the indigenous families and communities. Unity from the family level can easily be transferred to the national level. These family and community ties will be realized through intensive investment in education and training of all children in the country. It is the ideology of the party that every child has something to contribute to the welfare of the country. Regardless of their color, race or class every Canadian child has a dream of what they can become (Faucheux, 2003). The dreams of these children will only be nurtured if we equip them with the necessary skills and confidence. These skills and confidence can only be acquired through intensive school systems.

The previous regimes have failed terribly in dealing with crisis in education sector especially among the original communities. However, Great Canadian Political Party (GCPP) has a new approach that intends to bring change in the education sector. As a party, we will invest heavily in on-reserve education as well as in education infrastructure. This will ensure that all children will have equal access to education thus equipping them with essential skills (Meiring, 2002). These skills will be essential in providing a platform for these people to make contribution towards national development. Education to the indigenous communities will be of great importance towards realization of the Canada we want where social, political and economic equality will be prevalent. This will be a turning point for the Aboriginals s they will witness as they witness massive transformation in their education sector.

Additionally, the party also intends to invest heavily in the provision of clean drinking water and safe housing among the indigenous communities. It is imperative noting that most of the Canadian communities have been struggling over the years to have access to these basic rights. However, the party intends to put in place a collaborative action plan that will ensure that all the citizens in the republic will have access to basic rights. It is wise noting that poor housing and unsafe drinking water can be disastrous to the health status of the citizens. An ailing nation with consequently lead to less productivity and overall economic development of the country. It is on this premise that the party intends to put in place a poverty eradication program that will ensure that the Aboriginals will have access to shelter and clean drinking water (Waldram, Herring & Young, 2006). If the population get access to essential social amenities, it would be easy for them to be actively involved in the overall building and rebuilding of the country.

The aboriginals have also suffered for long time as a result of missing and murdered indigenous women. This has been a thorny issue to many Canadians for several years and the previous regimes have failed to address this issue. Aboriginals and other indigenous communities have been promised by politicians a solution to this problem but in vain.     Nevertheless, it is never too late and Great Canadian Political Party (GCPP) will have a decisive action on this problem. As a party, we intend to call an inquiry to the cases of missing and murdered women from the indigenous communities (Cook & Lindau, 2000). The inquiry will ensure that all the perpetrators of these heinous acts will be severely punished and ensure that such acts will never happen again in the country of Canada. As a party, we believe in the rule of law and that every person is entitled to life in total disregard of social class, race or gender. Great Canadian Political Party (GCPP) intends to guarantee justice to every Canadian, get people out of prisons and restore sense of social equality in our communities.

The equality status that most Canadians are aspiring for cannot be realized if we fail to address the recommendations of Truth and Reconciliation commission. The recommendations of this commission have been ignored by the previous governments and have facilitated the escalating rate of social inequalities experienced in the country (Czyzewski, 2011). However, Great Canadian Political Party (GCPP) will promptly act on these recommendations to ensure that such atrocities will never happen again in the country. The indigenous communities have been the subject of intense humiliation and segregation for many years and the party is determined to restore sanity in administration of justice. GCPP dreams of a Canada where every citizen will have equal treatment in the law jurisdiction.

Also, the previous governments have failed to deal decisively with the traumatizing instances that the people of Canada have suffered over time. For instance, according to the report from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the United Nations, the residential school system was a cultural genocide. However, previous regimes have failed to address this concern and as a result the affected communities have continued suffering from inferiority complex. The indigenous communities have suffered a lot from such segregation practices thus making their productivity and contribution to national economy redundant (Czyzewski, 2011). The social inequalities experienced by the indigenous communities have consequently led to increased alcoholism, high crime rate and apprehension thus making jails and prison home for the indigenous communities.  The injustices have also brought increased suicide cases among the indigenous communities (Waldram, Herring & Young, 2006). However, the party does not support this treatment to the Aboriginals and will have a mechanism of eradicating such a menace from Canada. All Canadians will be treated the same regardless of skin color or social class. As a party, we will set up a commission that will deal with the historical injustices that the aboriginals have suffered from in the past years.

The aboriginals have also been labeled as terrorists for a longtime. This is very disgusting making such gross allegations without any evidence of connecting the people with such high criminal acts. Great Canadian Political Party (GCPP) strongly condemns this behavior and believes that it is not fair at all to brand innocent citizens as terrorists. Though national security is of paramount importance to all the Canadians, it is also imperative noting that this does not guarantee us violating basic human rights of our citizens. As a party, we believe that it is possible to strike a balance between the national security and guaranteed freedom and protection of human rights of the citizens.  As a result, the party intends to work with the indigenous and the international community to deal with the security concerns of the country (Faucheux, 2003). It is even more drastic in such moments when terrorism has become a major area of concern to the global peace. It is nevertheless against the party’s position to brand the indigenous as terrorists for standing up for their rights while there is real threat from the real terrorists.

It is therefore the responsibility of the party to drive the agenda of reconciliation to all the people in Canada.  As a party, we would not like to be like our predecessors who have the idea of dealing with the inequalities but their ideas are only on paper and lack actions. Great Canadian Political Party (GCPP) will be proactive to offer solution to the problems that the indigenous Canadian population has suffered for several years (Meiring, 2002). With the spirit of togetherness with the indigenous communities, I am certain that we will be able to realize fair and just resolutions to the atrocities we are facing as a community. The reconciliation process will entail addressing serious issues of governance and other social and religious settings of our community. It will also be prudent noting that the party will also emphasize on the importance of enhancing self governance among the different communities in the country.

Great Canadian Political Party (GCPP) is aware that the task ahead is not a walk in the park. We are aware the task is quite challenging but with determination and unity of purpose, it will be easy to accomplish our mission. The injustices that the indigenous communities have suffered in more than one and half centuries cannot be undone abruptly regardless of how good the intentions are. It is nevertheless the hope of the party that together we can steer our country to the intended destination. Involvement of indigenous communities in the reconciliation process will be the driving force of realizing the party’s manifesto. A viable and mutual relationship between the federal government and the Aboriginal will be critical since it will be easy to make their voices heard by the government.

It is however worth noting that this journey will not be a success if you fail to exercise your democratic right of casting your votes. The only way that we will be able to address these challenges is by giving the Great Canadian Political Party (GCPP) the mandate to the leadership of this country (Waldram, Herring & Young, 2006). All the previous governments have left you languishing in poverty for several years. However, it is now an opportunity for you to vote for a regime that is conversant with the challenges you are going through and one capable of providing solutions to these problems. Great Canadian Political Party (GCPP) will ensure access to safety housing, clean drinking water, and good health care and guaranteed security among others.  A new dawn is now; take a step of bringing the change you desire by voting in GCPP.

For the past years, the voter turnout among the Aboriginals has been significantly low. This could be the reason as to why the previous regimes have failed to address the concerns affecting the indigenous communities. It is therefore imperative that you take this moment to practice the democratic exercise of casting a vote that will bring about the much anticipated change in the country. I am taking this opportunity to sensitize you to the importance of taking part in the election process (Meiring, 2002). It is only through your vote that we will bring the change we want in Canada. Please mobilize all the indigenous communities to come out to the last person and ensure that GCPP will form the next government. Let’s spread this message of hope to on-reserve voters in all parts of Canada. The previous governments have failed to hear your cries but I promise you that this is the time to vote in a government that will speak your grievances.

This is just a beginning of a long journey to the Promised Land. As a party, we will transverse to all parts of the country increasing awareness among the indigenous communities of the good intentions of the party towards building a better Canada where all citizens are equal and the federal government that will listen to all its citizens. We will also mobilize the elections board to carry out intensive campaign of sensitizing the general public on the importance exercising their democratic voting rights and how voting is done. I am also urging you to ensure that you meet all the registration requirements that will enable you to be part of this serious exercise. We can see that there are very stringent rules that are aimed at blocking you from taking part in the election process. Agents of dark are still determined to ensure that status quo is maintained at all costs and intends to frustrate you at the polling stations. It is nevertheless essential understanding nothing precious comes on a silver plate and thus hard work is a must.  Please note that your contribution to this election will be the difference between the much needed change and the status quo that has ruined the development chances for this country for several years.

Finally as I conclude my speech, let me remind you that in the face of despair, I believe that there is hope. These are great moments in the history of Canada and it is imperative that we ensure that we are part of making a positive history of our country. It is also important that we embrace the spirit of togetherness that will bring us to the intended destiny. We have a great a country that is great than any individual and it is imperative that we safeguard the interest of the country first. In this century, the world is experiencing dynamics in globalization and increased regional and social ties. It is therefore essential that we ensure that our country is not left behind as other countries make these milestones. Access to basic education, high quality medical services, safe drinking water and access to safety housing is not an option in the 21st century. I therefore want to urge you to take a step that will help us make the Canada we want. The only weapon that can help us match other countries is ensuring that we are equipped with the voting cards and on the Election Day, we come out in large numbers and send GCPP to the leadership of the country (Faucheux, 2003).  Accomplishing real change will not be easy but I promise that with your support, Canada will be a great country. I look forward to sharing that journey in partnership with you. Thank you and God bless you.
