The goal of this essay is two-fold. First, you will document how you have dealt with stress in your life with specific examples of stressful times (3 examples would be deemed sufficient, try to draw these examples from different areas as mentioned above) and how you have dealt with them. Secondly, drawing on what you have learned about the relation between stress and mental and physical health, try to develop a stress reduction plan on how to deal more effectively with stress in the future. The stress reduction plan should be a proactive approach to how you recognize and manage stressful events in your life. What you have learned about locus of control (Internal/External) and actively dealing with problems would be a good starting point for formulating this “stress reaction” plan.
