Program Outcome #4: Integrate professional values through scholarship and service in health care. (Professional identity)

This course has enabled me to apply my current knowledge and put it into practice while caring for patients. I feel like this class has helped me to get a good perspective of my professional identity. I want to improve on my service techniques when dealing with patients. As a provider, I want to earn the trust and respect of the patients by offering personalized care. I believe this will occur when there is open and honest communication between the patient and nurse. The last seven weeks have provided me with the opportunity to improve and increase my knowledge and understanding of the importance of developing a treatment plan based on evidence-based guidelines. Notably, this addresses the patient needs and promotes the role of the advanced practice nurse as a profession (Baker et al., 2017).Besides, health care is a dynamic practice that is ever-changing, and it is imperative for nurses to practice the highest level of care.

MSN Essential II: Organizational and Systems Leadership

Firstly, I evaluated the impact of diagnosis and treatment for patients, family, and caregiver. Secondly, I understood how to assess the plan of care by considering the safety of the patient, risk reduction and comorbidities. Lastly, I was able to evaluate the effectiveness of nonpharmacological interventions and analyze the patient’s response to the interventions.

NP Core Competencies #2 Leadership Competencies

One way in which I was able to achieve leadership competency was through the use of critical thinking skills that was to address workplace issues and implement various organizational changes. The main focus was to improve the outcome for the patient, healthcare providers, and local organizations. Multiple cases of unlawful prescription were handled by ensuring medical assistants focused on the improvement of safety through proper drug labeling. Also, the involvement in a professional organization such as the ANP Association has helped promote positive change and greater access to health care services (Lenburg, 2018).
