The purpose of this is to demonstrate your academic and personal development that has taken place. You will reflect on your learning, considering the impact that this has had on your skills and attitude, and how this will contribute towards your development into a well informed and competent learner and professional Assignment Brief Background Effective communication and inclusive practice is essential when working with diverse communities in public health and community settings. This initial block focuses on these underpinning skills, highlighting the theories, legislation and practical aspects of effective communication and anti-discriminatory practice. The primary aim is for student self-reflection and development enabling them to develop a deeper and more meaningful self-awareness and ability to work in higher education and with diverse groups in public health and community settings. Requirement You are required to keep a reflective journal (2000 words) on Moodle using OU blog software. You will have full support in its use. It is essential that there is evidence that you regularly complete and update this journal (at least once a week), so there is evidence of your learning and progression that has taken place, and so that you are continuously reflecting on your learning and skills. You will reflect on your communication skills and use of inclusive practice with diverse groups throughout this block (in CUC and the community) There must be evidence you update this blog at least on a weekly basis. (you will have time to work towards this in class) You will demonstrate evidence of wider reading and use of Harvard Referencing. You will refer to theories, concepts and legislation that you have learned in 101HSC and how they influence your practice in higher education and will do so in public health and community contexts. Consider a range of communication methods you have used in this block and how they can be applied as you progress, academically and vocationally. Explain why anti-discriminatory practice and effective communication is important in your chosen career.
