Business Continuity Plan Report

Companies have been thriving on various strategies over the years. Such approaches are meant to aid in sustaining the viability of the business regardless of the problem at hand. Therefore, an entity without such provisions is likely to fail because it might not have a sound sustainability pack. Meeting the CIO and the CSO indicates that the issue at hand cannot be assumed. Hence, a conclusive strategy ought to be implemented accordingly to uplift the ratings of the enterprise. This paper addresses findings and recommendations that should be adopted by the company in this case.

.

Findings

The first finding involves staffing. The staffing function is prone to several problems because it is the primary method that provides labour to firms. Therefore, if everything has been wrong from the onset, then the success rate of the management team will be thwarted by the existing bottlenecks. Another finding involves the possibility of a complacent attitude during the recruitment of employees. This approach would compromise the efforts of the Human Resource Manager in an attempt to align the objectives of the company and the pool of talent that exists. The BCP can be used in risk assessment to determine the most viable option that can be adopted to ascertain that the staffing function of management is carried out professionally. The management’s response to some of the issues has to be specific so that vague techniques are not applied even in emergency situations.

Training is exceedingly crucial for a firm that wants dynamism to be part of its mantra. Some organizations have failed terribly because of the failure to adjust to the changes that exist in the industry. (Wilson, 2006). Taking employees through training sessions has been highlighted as one of the decisions that would yield positive outcome since everyone would be enlightened on the crucial areas where they need to make some adjustments. There are several things that change in an industry. Hence the company might fall prey to lack of preparedness in this area. A possible solution will have to be availed.

Recommendations

The BCP provides an opportunity to analyse the findings. For example in this case, on the staffing issue, it would be wise to use different tactics. For instance, it would be effective to have a strategic plan on how to solve conflicts within the employees. Based on the tenets of BCP, the suggested option can be tested before the final decision is determined. Such approaches are likely to ensure that a firm does not taste failure. Adherence to existing legal provisions is another consideration is another bit that should be considered because some of the decisions might have some unforeseen ramifications. The concept of minimum wage is one of the issues that need to be respected to avoid any contravention of the existing laws. (Neumark&Wascher, 2008). Therefore, after the BCP analysis, it would be correct to have a team that adheres to every form of regulation that exists on staffing of an organization.

It is necessary to have training sessions that aid in the realization of organizational goals. It does not hurt to accept that change has a compelling force that cannot be avoided. Hence, it becomes inevitable (Randhawa, 2007).  Organizing seminars and workshops for employees are some of the methodologies that can be used to ensure that the transfer of information is a continuous process. Further, it is a show that the firm has limited signs of rigidity.
