Credible Sources for my Final Research Project Paper

Part 1

The article by Gunuc (2014), focused on examining the relationship between student engagement and academic achievement. The title of this article provides an immediate clue on its relevance to my selected research topic. The title is on the relationship between student engagement and academic performance, which are factors that influence student retention in higher education. Also, the article is relevant because it contains recent information. The publication date of the article is 2014. Lastly, I chose the article because it is a research journal. Precisely, the article is a peer-reviewed quarterly e-journal, and its journal title is International Journal on New Trends in Education and Their Implications.

Next, the article by Martirosyan, Saxon, and Wanjohi (2014) is relevant to my selected research topic since it talks about student satisfaction and academic performance, which are factors that contribute to student retention in higher education. Additionally, the relevance of the article is portrayed by its scholarly nature. For instance, the American International Journal of Contemporary Research is the journal title to this scholarly article. Lastly, the article was published in 2014; therefore, it contains recent information on student retention.

The article by Othman, et al. (2013) is relevant since it seeks to examine factors that influence academic aspiration of students. Another factor is the scholarly nature of the source.  The title of the journal is Procedia-Social and Behavioral Sciences, which is a scholarly journal. Besides, this journal is less than five years old; therefore, it contains recent information. On the other hand, the article by Thomas, Crosling, and Heagney (2009) is relevant since it talks about improving student retention in higher education. Besides, I chose this article because it provides detailed information on student retention in schools. The journal title is Australian Universities Review, which indicates that the journal is a peer-reviewed article.

Formative feedback is a significant tool since it provides students with an opportunity to interact with teachers and ask for assistance in situations when they have difficulty in understanding a concept.
