We should act now with profound structural changes and without regrets to avoid the worst case scenarios,

The human dimension of global change entails human actions which will influence the state of the environment, the reason behind these activities of human beings, the effect of environmental changes to the economies and rational response to the possible outcomes of global change. However, various factors influence the way human beings respond to environmental change. These factors include explicit knowledge of the phenomenon, the process of responsible decision making, and the motivation for the change. Since human beings adapt to the environment and also influence the environment: where social values enhance behaviors in line with adaptation. We can effectively respond to the environmental change through making structural changes which will avoid any further adverse effects of environmental changes. We can respond to environmental change by changing the way societies reorganized, changing our values(Harper & Snowden, 2017).

Profound structural changes are essential to be enacted to avoid any worse outcomes of environmental change in the future. This involves several changes in the set up of how we live to carry out our normal activities. First, we can adapt to environmental change through collaborative management and local habit restoration. It will be essential if we collaboratively plan for the ecological structures. This objective will restore damaged sites during environmental changes and sustain the species in the environment. This will aid in controlling the loss of a species in the environment through the reduction and extinction of some species in the future.

We can effectively build resilience to environmental hazards to avoid the worst scenarios. These environmental hazards include floods, drought, invasive species and pollution of elements such as soil and water. Environmental hazards affect the way people live and. We have to entirely make structural changes to the environmental risks order to avoid their more severe effects in the future. For example in countering the impact of floods and water pollution, we should develop a flood risk forecasting system. This system works in such a manner that when rain falls cannot enter a watercourse and instead flows across the surface. This system would be very crucial to avoid hazardous phenomena such as floods(Wang,Elimelech & Lin, 2016).

We can respond to environmental changes by enacting measures against bioenergy production to reduce emissions which result in temperature rises. The effects of bio-crops on wildlife are adverse as bioenergy products have negative effects on any species. We can, therefore, avoid bioenergy through converting farms which grow natural grass into maize farms. Bioenergy production also requires more wood pellets to ensure the demand for bioenergy products is met(Krapivin, Varotsos & Soldatov, 2015). This results in increased cases of logging into the forest. The activities of logging into forests threaten habitats of species thus may lead to their extinction.

Conclusion

The effects of environmental change are affected by human activities on their adjustment to the current environmental situations. Although the move to acting on the structural changes to avoid any worst scenarios in environmental changes may be hindered by insufficient support from relevant stakeholders such as the authorities, it is a move worth being made promptly(Harvey, 2016). According to my perspective, we should make structural changes such as banning bioenergy production, building environmental resilience to hazards and collaborative management to avoid any possible adverse effects of the environment changes.
