Saint Augustine and his contributions

Saint Augustine was a philosopher whose philosophy inspired the doctrine of Christianity with neoplatism.

His contributions include developing the Christian principles of original sin, divine, and grace. He also developed ideas which the Catholic churches and Protestant churches apply in their theological aspects. Augustine alsoproved the existence of God through eternal truths and argued that man comprehends universal truths above his mentality; thus there is the existence of an external God to explain the facts.

Pope Leo facilitated the foundation for papal supremacy by crowning Charlemagne as the RomanEmperor in the 800. By doing so, Pope Leo establishes the pattern whereby for one to be a leader in Western Europe, it was mandatory for the Pope to crown the individual for power acquisition

The pattern of Papacy was laid out by Pope Leo III as he crowned a Roman Emperor hence developed the precedent thatthere would be nobody in power control in if not crowned and blessed by the Pope. The Papacy has been increasing its powers and capabilities by secular Europeanrulers’even after the launching of crusades conflict which consisted of wars between Muslims and Christians

Differences between the Orthodoxy and Roman CatholicChurch

In orthodoxChristianity, the priests can marry a wife whereas, in the Roman Catholic Church, the priests cannot marry in church. The Catholic Churchbelieves in the Holy Trinity whereas the Orthodox believe in one spirit that comes from God.
