Down syndrome Response

Response C stands out to be the better response compared to the rest. The respondent first agrees with the opinion of the first two responses and then gives his view of the Down syndrome. Health ethics requires that every medical practitioner has the mandate follow ethical procedure when conducting a medical test on a patient. One of the fundamental factors to consider is the awareness of the patient. The patient has to accept every proposed test before conducting the procedure. The respondent declares that the test is ethical and terms it as a simple blood test that has little to do with the patient’s health risk. The writer father proposes the availability of the taste to every mother to reduce the chances of misunderstanding of the Down syndrome problem. I believe this respondent has a more ethical response compared to the rest. The respondent first confirms that there are no risks associated with the test conducted for the Down syndrome.

The writer also allows the parents to make a choice after equipping them with the information and options about the effect of the syndrome. The parents get to weigh the impact of either keeping the child or termination the pregnancy. He does not recommend any to the parent but gives them the freedom to choose their best option. According to Fox, & Ward (2008), it would be unethical to advise a mother to terminate the pregnancy because of health issue. The option would be to explain to the parent the two sides of action and then allow the mother to make own decision (Maris et al. 2016). However, the act of pushing or offering only a single option would be considered unethical to the mothers. Every person ethically has a right to decide personal health.
