How climate change can be understood as a carbon cycle design and management challenge

Carbon cycle constitutes of several processes that have been linked together in the environment by plants using carbon dioxide in photosynthesis, decomposition and respiration. On the other hand, climate change involves a change in the patterns of the climate either locally or globally mainly caused the risen levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere due to the increased consumption of the fossil fuel. Carbon largely contributes in the control of the carbon dioxide cycle and the world’s changes in climate(Huang et al. 2016). It is worth noting that a slight change in the levels of the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere can cause a great change in the climate. By determining the level of carbon that will be kept, retained and be let to the ecosystem.

Microbial organisms that decompose in the environment contribute largely to the carbon cycle. Large quantities are found in the ecosystem, whereby microbes have been discovered to play a major role on how the carbon will be stable in the environment. Human activities also contribute greatly to the climate change that is encountered globally by increasing the levels of the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere(Pecl et al 2017). The levels of the carbon dioxide would be exceedingly higher were it not for the exchange of carbon between the plants, atmosphere, oceans and land. Climate change has been reduced by the carbon cycle by eradicating some of the carbon dioxide from the environment. Moreover, the carbon cycle is very sensitive to any alterations in the climate. Any slight change in the climate affects the efficiency of carbon dioxide removal from the atmosphere.
