Knowing who we are and our role in society requires us to recognize our roles. No matter the roles of leaders, identifying critical issues is significant if we want to experience a life that aligns with our values. If we do not understand our core leadership values, we certainly lack direction and purpose in society. Caring about leadership values helps us to determine how to react and engage with others. A positive attitude is essential since it helps leaders to achieve lasting success. Leaders with a positive outlook on life will always be effective hence succeeding. Moreover, with a positive attitude, leaders can determine their level of contentment and interaction with people. A leader will always get respect and love from people since they exercise a healthy relationship. Lastly, positive attitude creates productivity. Employees in an organization will improve their performance if they are working in a positive environment. For instance, enthusiasm, happiness, and positive thinking inject energy into a team resulting in growth.

The filters of value system include self-realization. Self-realized leaders are those who have mastered their self-identity and trust (Tavanti, 2009). Self-realization helps individuals to nurture and give through leadership. Leaders tend to develop a positive attitude that helps them to care about the morale of the team and motivate with respect. People who give through leadership are effective thus maintaining a positive attitude. Leadership givers are committed to helping people. Leadership is more concerned with people than management because it entails nurturing and serving people. A leader will only serve the people if he/she can nurture (Tavanti, 2009). Besides, one can nurture if he/she can give to the people. Becoming a leader in giving demonstrates one’s generosity. Conversely, management deals with creating an environment for self-management.
