Global Perspective

Through past interactions, I noted that the recognition of diverse perceptive is tied to factors such as broad knowledge, intellectual flexibility, and self-awareness. These factors allow for a complete perception of the world through the eyes of other people. Diverse perspectives recognition thus requires an in-depth understanding of the customs, traditions, and practices that are held by other people. In most cases, preconceptions and bias tend to taint diverse perspectives recognition. Rather than labeling the values of other groups as being inferior, there is the need to upheld and respect the opinions and values of other people.

Through interaction with persons from different cultural groups, I noted that cultural factors influence the interaction processes. Other than semantic barriers, psychological factors that are based on cultural backgrounds shape the mind of the speakers. An example is the fact that communication between native English speakers and second language speakers is likely to have some problems. In an interaction with a member of the Latino community, I noted that the interactions are deeply tied to cultural factors. There is thus the requirement to show respect and acknowledgment of the values that are held by the group.

Likewise, there is a need to have an understanding of the differences and similarities among groups.  During any interpersonal communication, it is crucial to show awareness of the values and tradition of other people. In the past, I employed the technique to create stronger personal connections and also attain communication objectives. Diverse perspectives awareness can be attained without improved levels of understanding. Secondly, there is a similar urge to apply factual knowledge during the interaction processes.  The argument rests on the fact that communication is both subjective and strategic and thus calls for planning.

Although self-awareness is often overlooked, it serves as the foundation of emotional intelligence and better relationships with other people. It is a critical step towards the attainment of interpersonal competence and dealing with communication barriers. It further facilitates in self-management, a better understanding of others values and managing the relationship with other community members. In the case of leaders, self-awareness attunes their inner signals and evaluates ways that their feelings influence the performance levels and interactions with other community members.

It is critical to note that personal behaviors determine leadership styles. Likewise, leadership styles are what other people experience. It implies that there is a need to be aware of other people’s perceptions and emotions in a move to minimize conflicts of interest. Being sensitive to the opinions of other people is vital. Self-awareness ensures that there is the determination of both strengths and the weak areas. Wheel one can capitalize on the strengths; there is also the stress to work on the weak areas. It serves as the basis of self-improvement and fostering better relationships with other parties.  There are ways that one can demonstrate awareness such as being courageous, confidence, responsiveness and openness.

While interacting with other people, it is advisable to pay attention to their responses and communication styles. Leadership awareness emphasizes on the urge to focus on the needs of other people. It indicates that there is a commitment to addressing the needs of other people and improving their welfare. Rather than dominating the minority groups, diverse global perspectives require that there is the adoption of measures that foster the wellbeing of all people. However, this attainable only in a setting where one views the world in the eyes of other people.  The approach allows for the identification of the way of life, problems, interests, and needs of other parties.

Whole systems leadership models can be defined as being rooted in diversity. Such a system thrives in recognition of the values and opinions of different individuals. Through this standpoint, any conflicting ideas or opinions do not present a problem for the parties. On the contrary, they offer an opportunity of sharpening the understanding and reasoning thus leading to innovative options. Global perspectives recognize the need to share power with other people and adopt an inclusive model of interaction. A wide-ranging perspective implies that there is a broad scope of ideas that can be used to address existing problems.

Some of the factors that I noted plays a vital role in the recognition of global perspective are acknowledging the impacts of both privileges and power.  It rebukes the treatment of people on the basis of skin, ethnicity, economic background, gender, and sexual orientation. On the contrary, its stress on the recognition and respecting of these differences. Likewise, practicing respect for other people implies that there will be stable relationships free form discrimination and judging. It means that there is the recognition that differences do not translate to conflict but contribute to the pool of solutions. Moreover, these differences are also to be viewed as being opportunities for growth.

I noted that I impactmy community and other people in the area. My opinions and actions may have the effect of either supporting or eroding the values of other people. Positively changing the lives of other people starts with my-self-awareness. The argument rests on the fact that this would help shape my actions and behaviors. I would thus settle for activities that do not disrupt the wellbeing of other people. The lack of self-awareness may have the risk of triggering social problems such as discrimination, crime, and other conflicts. Self-awareness plays an important role in shaping global perspectives as it allows for the detailed understanding of the values and practices of other parties.

Moreover, both my knowledge and cultural competency levels determine my relations with other people. Cultural competency implies that I have a better understanding of the differences between my culture and other cultural values. The recognition of the differences is explained as being the basis of respecting other values and fostering better relationships with one another.  There are instances where psychological factors such as preconceptions, bias, and stereotypes tend to affect the relationship with other people. In the past, I had some negative stereotypes towards some groups and often associated them with crime and other wrongs society.

While I had developed the stereotypes from the media, I realized that it limited my diverse perspective and made it challenging to have positive relationships with these groups. Rather than that have pre-formed ideas, it is advisable to create person links with other groups and have a better understanding of their way of life. The psychological factor can thus be defined as being barriers to inclusivity. An example can be cited in settings where some groups view others as being inferior. Such a trend is propelled by pride and other negative attributes. It is contrary to the concept of inclusivity and disrupts the smooth relationships among the community members.

On the other hand, ignorance may also be defined as having the effect of limiting inclusivity.  Rather than conducting research, there is a tendency to conform to the ideologies that are held by other people. It is for this reason that scholars note that emotional intelligence is critical in recognition of diverse perspectives. Emotional intelligence has the benefit of guiding the relationship with other parties and creating new contacts. However, this can only be attained in a setting where people undertake to learn the way of life of other groups. In my case, I undertook to learn the cultural values of different ethnic groups in my area of residence.

Currently, I am competent in different cultural values and can interact with diverse people without registering a conflict of interest.  Improved knowledge further means that I can easily take part in discussions at ease. It is imperative to note that globalization and urbanization have led to increased interactions among person of diverse backgrounds. The trend continues to make learning institutions and the workplace more diverse. While this has the benefit of increasing productivity levels, it also leads to communication problems. There is a rise in the number of conflicts that are linked to the non-recognition of global perspectives.

My actions are based on the realization that different groups in my society have divergent views. Rather than taking a dominant position or asserting my ideas on other people, I ensure that I equally accommodate their views.  There is the risk that the minority groups are under-represented in a social setting. The dominant groups tend to advocate for interest and opinions without regard to other minors. However, the trend is wrong and goes against the idea of inclusivity. In a typical social setting, it is expected that there would be efforts to ensure that there is a full representation of all persons.

In cases where I failed to acknowledge the interest and needs of other people, I noted that the felt sidelined and frustrated. Such instances strained my communication and often created conflicts of interest. Just like me, I realized that other people have the desire to practice their traditions and cultural values without any infringement. Imposing my values or labeling their values as being inferior is disrespectful and disrupts inclusivity. There are other instances where I worked in different organizational settings. These organizations had a composition of people from diverse backgrounds, and there was challenge fostering smooth relationships among the staffs.

During this period, my actions played a significant role in the sharing of the organizational culture. Unlike other employees that discriminated other employees on the basis of gender and ethnicity, I opted to follow the outlined organizational policies. My approach saw many diverse workers easily interact with me and also feel at ease sharing their personal details. The unfolding of the events created the realization that one’s behaviors are connected to the recognition of global perspectives. Global perspectives stress the benefits that come with inclusivity and ways better relations among diverse groups can be attained.

From the indicated concepts, it is evident that self-awareness contributes to better relations with other people. Self-awareness is the basis for forming positive behaviors that foster better relations with other society members. Self-awareness can be defined as being the analysis of the world in the eyes of other people. In many cases, there is the tendency to sideline the opinions and interest of other persons and instated focus on personal interest. However, this can be addressed through the recognition of global perspectives.  It stresses on the improvement of cultural competency levels and inclusivity. The inclusion of multiple values helps to reflect on the world values and contributes towards social stability. Nonetheless, different scholars note that cultural competency can only be attained by gaining more knowledge of other cultures.

Recognition of diverse perspectives is explained as being tied to emotional intelligence which focuses on ways to foster positive relationships with diverse people. Emotional intelligence further ensures that there is the upholding and respecting of the values that are held by different cultural groups. Based on my interactions, I had the realization that factors such as pre-conceptions and bias have adverse impacts on inclusivity. On the contrary, they lead to conflicts and alienation of diverse paper. However, the problem can be addressed by having an open mind when interacting with diverse people. Likewise, improved levels of self-awareness imply that there would be the shaping of values such as honesty, care, and inclusivity.
