Heightened Violence against Women of Color

Heightened Violence against Women of Color

Political identity in women globally has had a significant move that is visible in the society. Women are now together, and society takes them as another social group, which deserves political share other than weak gender without roles.  They have established a common ground where they can address the problem they face in the man-dominated societies (1). The impact of the converged feminism group is evident in that there are more women in power than before and cases of female genital mutilation and other sexual harassment are very few currently. However, the political identity of women globally has created more problems than they were in some women. The unity of women is not able to address issues, which minority women groups are facing.  White women have assumed the racial and class discrimination of women of colour and addressed the gender perspective, which affects all women.

The political identity of violence against women has created another structure of discrimination against women of colour by assuming their specific challenges back in their residential places. They have heightened discrimination against race and taken it to global levels. Women of colour, for example, will take two years to attain citizenship in the US after getting married to a white man (3). The problems, which women of colour were facing before political identity, are still the same. They are facing violence because of poverty, race and gender while white women are already past such discrimination. Such identities have only undermined women of colour and violence against them remains (13). They are not allowed to empower themselves through job creation or acceding to power similar to white women. Furthermore, white women emerge as the dominant group in the identity creating more challenges to women of colour than solutions.
