Hospitality and its Segments

Hospitality refers to the existing relationship between a service provider and a customer. The hospitality industry is, therefore, any business premises which offers foods, drinks and accommodation services to customers who are near the firms. Hospitality industry majorly focuses on the satisfactory rate of customers for further recommendations and sales. Moreover, any hospitality unit has to entail particular units such as casual workers, management team, staff in the human resource department and other servers so that it can properly run and achieve its objectives in the hospitality industry.

Hospitality comprises of four segments i.e.travel and tourism, recreation facilities, lodging and foods, and beverages.Foods and beverages industry is the most dominant segment in hospitality.  The segment primarily entails business enterprises aimed at preparation of meals and drinks for their consumption either inside the business firm or outside. For example, restaurants can create a first-class customer service when serving clients with meals. Foods and beverages segment in hospitalist industry is responsible for feeding more than 50% of the United States of America. Travel and tourism segment involves all the services aimed at the free movement of people from one place to another. Travel and tourism work one in hand with each other as tourism motivates people to move from one another hence traveling. The expense incurred in travel is hospitality costs.

On the other hand, lodging refers to hospitality segmentation where one sleeps for some time. These include hotels, motels, and youth hostels. Recreation segment involves activities that are developed for the refreshment of the mind and body. Examples of enterprises dealing with recreation include movie shows and museums where people can visit to refresh themselves
