How Did Donald Trump’s Use Of Stylistic Language Help Him Win The Election

Introduction

For a long time, people have been known for using the words that come out of others mouths to judge them. This also applies in the political platform. Consequently, politicians are followed by their voters based on what they are saying. When a politician speaks well, people follow them if they believe in what he or she is saying. Within the united states, political speeches and conferences are taken into serious consideration by the voters (Ahmadian, Azarshahi, and  Paulhus, 2017).  Also, whatever people say is usually used by their opposition to attacking the leading candidate who has spoken. It means that politicians have to be careful about every statement that they make. Donald Trump has successfully managed to woo voters by his use of stylistic devices while delivering his messages  (Sclafani, 2017). The use of stylistic language is sometimes seen to be funny and entertaining to the audiences. As a result, any people came to their preferences of Trump during his presidential campaign to listen to him. The following are some of how Donald Trump managed to win his presidential election through successful incorporation of stylistic devices in language.

Use of rhetorics

Donald Trump has been known for being a master of rhetoric language. His performances on news conference and briefings have been baffling many political insiders leading to many comics skewing his rhetorics in language mastery(Gornostayeva, 2016). This has led to many people gaining interest from every word that comes out of Donald Trump from the time he was collecting his political campaigns (Savoy, 2017).Donald Trump has gained a massive success on leveling his opponent with different rhetorical arsenals. Through this skill, trump labels and try to imprison the component through his words so that the population sees the opponent as the week and defeated. An example is his use of” fake news ” label that he has been referring to when people throw attacks at him over his past misconduct.

Repetition

In addition to this, Trump uses repetition to ensure that he stresses upon the point and that people get what he is trying to say. In his news briefings, trump used to continually repeat the term” fake news ” more than 20 times in the same speech (Ott, 2017).There are other phases such as “ make America great again” that is repeated continuously to ensure that the voters follow him.

Use of hyperbole

Apart from repetition, Donald Trump uses hyperbole to exaggerateand dramatize most of his speeches. For example “The whole world is blowing up,” is a common height Donald Trump uses when he is discussing country such as Syria. Grammatical maturity is the other stylistic device that Donald Trump used to sway his voters. A presidential candidate must have a certain form or language maturity and complexity (Singh, 2017). This involves an accurate choice of words and sentence structures that gives the highest possible level of grade ranking. To emphasize his language maturity, Donald Trump has been reminding people of his level of language excellence by always stating the phrase”I’m very highly educated. I know words. I have the best words.”. This shows that the president was aware that is needed to perform excellently in the language to guaranty many votes. By combining all these levels, Donald Trump was able to convince the public that he was the right choice and that he could successfully succeed as the president.

Conclusion

In conclusion, despite the many labels that Donald Trump got while he was doing his campaign, one of the critical issues to the success of his presidential bid was a successful implementation of the stylistic language. Stylistic devices can be quite convincing and persuading if carefully used.Through the precise application of language, trump’s campaigns had numerous supporters who wanted to listen to him, and they eventually voted for him (Savoy, 2018). Uncharacteristically, he used to language to label weak characteristic on his opponents and made people aware of the weaknesses that they opponent had. He continuously reminded that HillaryClinton was vulnerable and could not sustain the pressure that comes with the administrative job.
