Human Anatomy and Human Physiology

In most cases, students have some knowledge and a basic understanding of how the human body functions like movements, senses, and needs. But the most unfortunate thing is that the students are having a hard time trying to understand the thicker side of physiology and anatomy.

Human anatomy is a scientific study of body structures. It was first applied to study the wounds and injuries among soldiers. By this time Human anatomy studied only the external body parts. Later on, the physicians were allowed to dissect dead bodies in their studies. However, today, thanks to the technology, human anatomy does do not only scientific research of the external body parts only but also internal body parts. Person health is essential, and this will include mostly the internal organs. Physicians can observe small body cells which cannot be studied with naked eyes.

With the help of magnifying machines, they can dissect and study relationships between body parts. This technology has advanced such that in recent years physicians not only examine living human beings but also they can identify malfunctioning body cells as early as possible for instance a fractured bone or a cancerous tumor. All these thanks to the new technology that has impacted the healthcare industry a lot. There are two major divisions of human anatomy, that is, macroscopic anatomy and microscopic anatomy. Macroscopic anatomy studies larger body structures which are visible without magnification whereas microscopic anatomy studies body structures that can only be visible with the aid of magnification.

Human physiology unlike anatomy, it deals with body functions. It is the scientific study of the chemistry and physics of the structures of the body and how these structures work together to support or maintain life in human bodies. Just like anatomy, physiology employs both observations of the naked eye and microscopic observations. Physiologists just like anatomists apply specialization depending on the organs under study. For instance, neurophysiologists study the functions of the brain, spinal cord and nerves and how all these organs work together to perform the features such as movement and thinking. Observes, it is challenging to study body structures without understanding their functions hence implying how the two studies are connected. (Shier et al. 13). This is the main reason why we need to give credit to specialize in this field for their great job.

Anatomy and physiology is a mandatory course for nursing students. The course is paramount as it provides the students with all the primary base that is essential in helping the students. This course also touches on chemical makeup and how it affects human life. Anatomy and physiology mostly concentrate on how a person body functions all together to operate smothery. To conclude the anatomy and physiology unit, all the students are supposed to have a solid knowledge and understanding of some of the anatomic conditions used in a person’s body, a location of essential organs, space of the body system, physiology conditions and area of body cells. The course helps nurses comprehend how to take good care of their patients by making sure that the body is always in a balanced condition.
