IMPORTANCE OF EVIDENCE IN RELIGIOUS REALM
Over the years, multiple questions arise about the meaning of proof. What are those things that count as evidence?Detractors and Mormons have always argued in overheated debates because various parties fail to prove what counts as evidence against multiple issues such as the resurrection and restoration of the priesthood. Sometimes different things are said about God; however, people fail to trust in these things because they lack clear evidence. In God’s instructions, the evidence is an essential ingredient to those individuals who believe his word. Fundamental to the discussion about the role of proof in religious beliefs is how individuals perceive the relationship between revelation and reason. In the paper, I will make a distinction of Subjective/intuitive evidence, objective/historical evidence and scientific evidence as to their importance in the religious faith.According to the philosophical conception, trust must come first then trust. The review, therefore, speaks favorably about the significance of evidence in religious searches and spiritual beliefs.
Evidence removes reasonable doubt and gives assurance that builds faith. Through making use of all our commands powers, we understand that evidence adds more weight on one side leaving the other one weightless. It helps in removing doubt that may be found within a religious realm. It is essential because it helps in building faith through opening the door of truth(Ellul, 2012). For example, when there is enough evidence in the court land, the possibility of doubt is wholly removed. This is precisely what happens in the case of religious beliefs. When a shred of evidence concerning a particular faith is appropriately presented, people tend to believe in that issue beyond the possibility of doubt. Evidence helps in making truth plausible and understandable. There is always convergence when considering what theprophets are saying, but through the provision of evidence, an individual can increase the faith of believing in prophets. Many scholars have researched more to know about the religiousrealm. From the discussions created, many insights converge on the same conclusion. From the book of Mormon, there is a piece of clear evidence about the ritual of bizarre where the top tree was chopped down, and an individual was hanged. The truth in this evidence makes the book plausible and understandable.
Evidence also brings an individual towards a belief;British theorist Austin Farrar said that arguments increases trust but doesn’t create conviction. Although arguments have been widely used to defend faiths, it is vital to involve various shreds of evidence to accompany the discussions. In this way, the beliefs will be widely accepted by the people. According to this particular scholar, an argument doesn’t create confidence but maintains a flourishing climate of an idea. People may not embrace those things that are proved but not defended appropriately.Evidence makes a belief possible; people are naturally stubborn, only a few of them can believe in something without any evidence. A large number of individualsusually need inducements, clues, and indications to think in certain religious faiths(Argyle, 2014). This is the reason why Almatold the less fortunate that; blessed are those individuals who believe in God without being compelled to do so. However, a lot of people are usuallyobliged to understand more through ancient beliefs.
Evidence also helps in articulating knowledge and defending against misinterpretation and error. Academicians’ acts as evidence articulators. When this articulation is merged with consecration and submissiveness, robust research is createdto build a strong kingdom. For instance,if individuals fail to believe about Christianity, the statistical evidence provided in the book of Mormon can be an essential tool of knowledge provision. Scientific pieces of evidence provide distinctive testimonies that genuinely convince and impress the people (Ysseldyk, 2010).Evidence keeps pace in the give and takes off competing alternatives. There are many pseudo-scholar who always have opposing views against religious faiths; however, the church cannot be outdone by these scholars because of the scientific evidence provided. Evidence also enhances meaning and promotes understanding. To understand more about Christianity, people can travel to the holy land; this is evidence to seek opinion and to improve the meaning of the bible. Evidence acts as a building block of understanding the full content of an issue.
In conclusion, the evidence is essential in strengthening the impression that may be left in an individual’s soul and mind. It, therefore, act as a necessary tool in drawing attention to those things that may escape without notice. Evidence builds respect for the truth. Evidence helps in eliminating doubt and developing faith; people cannot easily religious issues not unless there is enough convincing evidence. Evidence also plays a significant role in defending against misinterpreted errors. It is only through evidence that truth about religious realms can be defined, false information is also eliminated.Through the miracles performed by prophets, people tend to believe and respect the gospel of Jesus Christ. Evidence impels individuals to ask the ultimate questions raised by that evidence. A shred of evidence is, therefore, crucial in the religious realm.
