Indonesia tends to fit in as a country of study for this unit. It is a sovereign state located in Southeast Asia. The country has the largest economy in this region, and it is one of the emerging markets in the world’s economy. Currently the country is working towards enhancing economic development in various ways.

Among the things that make it favourable for this study is its population. In 2013, the population was estimated to be 250,585,668 (Khan, 2013). Previously, it has been argued that high populations are among the reasons why developing countries are having problems in promoting economic development. On the environmental aspect, there are several issues experienced due to rapid industrialisation and high population.
