Intervention/activity: Depression

According to MHP depression is currently a common condition which leads to persistent sadness and disinterest in activities mostly among the youth. It affects behaviours, thoughts and feelings and can be the root of emotional, physical, and functional problems.  Failure to address it is very disastrous to human health.  MHP recommended internet intervention (CATCH-IT), and sharing of personal issues to close friends who can provide solace and comfort according to Lintvedt, Ove K (et al.., 10)

The effectiveness of depression intervention

In the discussion, the client was very attentive and nodded to indicate that he was very receptive to the information that was being passed about depression. He further agreed to download the CATCH-IT app from the Google play as an online intervention to depression. This application scans the mood of a person concerning depression levels and provides recommendations concerning how to deal with the situation.  The implication of this is that the client was positive that depression is curable and again, internet intervention is an important methodology of easing depression in society.

Activity /intervention: sadness

The information that reached the client from MHP is that sadness is a feeling of loss and despair. MHP stated to the client sadness is very detrimental to health. It causes him not to have a positive approach to life. MHP added that psychological, mental, spiritual and physical pain are some of the main causes of sadness in a person’s life. MHP recommended psychological counselling, getting busy (avoiding idleness), and indulging in hobbies that attract individual happiness as some of the major ways to overcome sadness (Durà-Vilà et al., 166)

The effectiveness of intervention: sadness

In the communication about sadness, the client appeared very receptive, attentive and kept close eye contact. He decided to keep happy as it is healthy. He accepted main sadness causes and mitigating ways of depression. This clearly showed that she had an undivided interest in the entire topic about sadness. After the discussion, the client seemed very hopeful that sadness is solvable.

Intervention/activity: self-esteem

MHP informed the client that self-esteem is the feeling of self-worth and importance. MHP stated that people with low self-esteem usually struggle with underperformance. The high esteemed people are majorly successful in almost everything they do. MHP instructed the client to ensure that all his goals set are simple, materialistic, attainable, time-bound, and realistic (SMART); and to avoid unnecessary inter-personal comparison on success (Fennell,  57)

The effectiveness of intervention: self-esteem

The client paid very close eye attention and promised to adhere to all instructions provided by MHP. He promised that the issue of goals always made him lag since they were all bringing negative results. In that way, he agreed that SMART goals were a key factor adoptable to his enhancing of self-esteem. He also promised never to compare himself with others regarding achievement since he is unique and acquainted with specific talents and capabilities.

Intervention/activity: isolation

MHP informed the client that isolation is a situation whereby a person finds him/herself having limited contact with people or simply aloof. Failure to interact with fellow human beings is destructive since it alienates one from being informed. Again, it can be a source of stress and other mental challenges. MHP told the client to socialise with people to avoid stress, be informed, happy and keep the mind healthy to cure loneliness (Janta et al., 550)

The effectiveness of intervention: isolation

The client appeared very receptive, keen and maintained close eye contact. He maintained that he was going to become social to people as it will make him access much information that would be essential for mental development.
