Learning to Use Microsoft Internet Explorer 11

Learning to Use Microsoft Internet Explorer 11

Phase 1: Information Planning

The target audiences for this tutorial are internet users who have low skills in understanding computer programs. The tutorial will help an individual to learn the basic operations and functions of the Microsoft Internet Explorer 11. It is significant for an individual to understand the functioning of the Internet Explorer for easy navigation. The possible environment that would suit the audience is the cybercafé. The cybercafé is an appropriate location because of the availability of computers and Internet services.

Phase 2: Content Specification

The audiences have little knowledge of Microsoft Internet Explorer but have the desire to stay up with technology. They should be willing to learn new concepts. According to Steane (2013), any attempt a person makes to understand the needs of the audience will yield better results. The use of questionnaires and oral communication was useful in getting information about the audiences’ opinion regarding the topic. The content of the tutorial includes the introduction, body and conclusion sections. The body will encompass sections on opening the Internet Explorer browser, the basic browsing, viewing documents and setting a default start-up page. I performed a thorough online research to obtain background information on Microsoft Internet Explorer. This included visiting Microsoft website. Also, I consulted experts who provided me with detailed information on Internet Explorer.

Phase 3: Implementation

The tutorial will take the form of a PowerPoint presentation. The audience will learn how to open the Internet Explorer browser, the basic browsing, viewing documents and setting a default start-up page.

Phase 4: Production

The tutorial will be available on YouTube and other social media platforms such as Facebook. Also, I might write a blog so that the actual audience might find an opportunity to learn.

Phase 5: Evaluation

The whole procedure has been successful because of the availability of experts who helped me with information on the topic. The topic for this tutorial is less complex; therefore, it was easy to get information from the internet and other resourceful sites. The challenges I encountered included ensuring that the content was user-friendly. Audiences want to read credible information (Steane, 2013). Secondly, it was challenging to obtain information from the audience about the topic since some were reluctant to participate. I have learnt that it is important to keep improving the tutorial to ensure that the contents are correct and if there is need for new information.
