Living in suburbs

Making a choice on the best place to live can always be a difficult choice. One must consider several factors in making a choice whether to live in a city, suburbs or the rural areas. Important aspects such as the housing prices, schools, property values among other social life aspects should be the basis upon which one should make a choice on the best place to live (Cavailhès et al. 681-703). It’s my opinion that living in the suburbs is the best choice compared to living in the city or the countryside.

To start with, suburb dwelling has an advantage of having bigger houses thus giving more dwelling space compared to the city life. If one decides to live in a rental house, it is possible to get a square footage for some reasonable amount. The same square footage would be quite expensive in the city and hence living in the city will force a person to squeeze in a small space. Tracts of lands in the suburbs often include room for home as well as front and backyards. It is also worth noting that some of these suburbs areas were previously rural or wooded areas thus having a favorable environment with trees and greens (Buckridge 173-177). It is also essential to point out that they are strategically located near cities thus making it easy to commute to and from the city. In essence, the large space and good surrounding environment make it wise living in the suburbs.

Besides the bigger houses and the large spaces, suburb dwellers also benefit from better social amenities such as hospitals, roads and schools just mentioning a few. It is important noting that suburban areas are known to have better schools compared to the urban or the rural schools.  Since one intends to have a family in future, it is, therefore, important to plan for the education of our children. Suburbs’ lifestyle will give the children an opportunity to get an affordable and quality education (Kahn and Bajari). Unlike in the cities, the schools in suburban are cool and in a quiet environment and hence gives the children a peaceful environment to complete their studies. The schools are also quite affordable thus making it wise choosing a suburban lifestyle as opposed to city or rural life.

It is also important to point out suburban lifestyle offers the best quality of life as compared to the city and rural life. Most of these areas are surrounded by local parks and favorable environment where residents enjoy fresh air and natural scenery (Jindrich 147-167).  The areas are also free from congestion, noise and crimes thus giving the area an upper hand compared to city life. It is also wise to point out that suburban areas offer the residents with good opportunities due to their proximity to the city as well as to the rural. In essence, living in the suburbs offers the best choice since there several advantages associated with the lifestyle as compared to city life or even life in the rural.
