Guatemala is regarded as the most populous nation in Central America. High percentages of mixed ethnicities in Guatemala and other parts of the Latin America slave importation who were brought from the earlier days to offer forced labor in sugar plantations. When the slave trade was banned in the seventeenth century, the black population gradually assimilated in to mestizo. The existence of a mixed population resulted in a political division. This is due to the fact every ethnic group had diverse political ideologies. Also, it led to the emergence of different languages, dressing codes, and religious practices. It further resulted in population pressure which forced some ethnicities out of agriculture and engages in cottage industries.

People of mixed native ethnicities caused the emergence of violence and forced enlistment as individuals from different races struggle to occupy various white-collar positions in town and cities. However, the composition of a blend of European and indigenous have brought greater consolidation and social interaction. This has played a significant role in economic growth and harmony between leaders and political officials (Guatemala, 2018). Moreover, it has resulted to development of appropriate strategies of controlling problems such as corruption and discrimination. Mixed ethnicities in Guatemala and Latin American have led to intermarriages which have more significant impacts in national unity. Besides, it resulted to development of arts which supported the morals of the country’s population as well as the economy.

Syncretistic can be defined as the act of incorporating diverse elements of religious beliefs and practices. It mostly takes place when the foreign ideologies are introduced to an indigenous belief system hence, resulting to new teachings (Got Questions, 2018). Typically, the evolution of culture is the critical factor towards religious practices syncretistic. Across the world, Christianity is regarded as the most syncretistic. Also, Islam drew extensively on older religions such as Christianity and Zoroastrianism.
