My Business

Introduction

The only way to improve peoples’ eating habits is by starting a healthy fast food business. The business provides an opportunity for people to change their way of eating, combat diseases like cancer, reduce sickness and in general, improve the health condition of the people. However, it must be noted that healthy fast food business is only ideal for the people who have skills in culinary, have interest in saving the human health as well as having passion for nutritious but delicious food. In this case, the following is what I will do to ensure Think “Fast Food,” Think “Fresh Green” is successful.

What I will do first

Market Research

The needy for healthy fast foods in the country creates an opportunity for healthy fast food business. With such an opportunity, my business to serve the people will major on pure fresh green products like fajita vegetables, fresh tomato salsa, green beans, broccoli, cedar salmon, grilled avocado, roasted tomatoes among others. The first thing to do in this case will be studying doing thorough market research. By saying market, I mean the people who will consume my products. The research will entail going on the internet to study the eating habits of the people from all classes and genders. Additionally, my friends will walk around in groups administering questionnaires to people to find out what their take on green fast foods is and how health conscious are. By so doing we will get the target market and focus on satisfying them.

Target market

Having collected adequate findings from the survey, the target market to serve will be the health –conscious individuals who lack the time and even skills to make food at home. In other words, these individuals have a busy schedule since they work full time and have only a few minutes to grab a quick meal during break or when leaving work. In most cases, these are people who are of a young age, they are savvy about health and nutrition nuisance. In other words, these individuals are millennials that range from 20 to mid-30 and they outspace baby boomers in their spending as well as eating habits. Research shows that 30% of millennials eat organic foods that are certified. Therefore, I will shape my menu in a way that it is appealing to the customer demographics I target to serve for me to enjoy a steady stream of customers.

Where I will start the business

Given the fact that I have identified the target market, I will thus have to find a suitable place for the business. In this case, the place will be near a company that has over 50% millennials. This is a suitable place as the employees will have access to the healthy foods on their way in and even out or even during breaks.

Raising capital

It is obvious that the business premises will be leased, a fact that implies funds. There will be other needs such as the money for the products to be sold, food preparation station, napkins, refrigerators to keep the products fresh given their perishable nature, cash registers among others. Furthermore, the business will require employees and a possible drive-thru lane. To get the funds for these needs, I will look for government-sponsored programs such as youth funds, as well as talking to my parents to assist me with what they can get.

Filing for legal entity and taxes

A sole proprietorship, my business does not exist from a legal point, and thus, I will file for a “Doing Business As” certificate at the office of the local county clerk by filling a business form as well as paying fee. I will need the DBA because my business will not bear my name but a different one. I will further register for taxes with the federal taxes as required by the law.

Opening a bank account for my business

The importance of having a bank account which is relevant for in any business is because I will have to keep my finances organized. By so doing it will be easy to take account of the business expenditure to determine profits and losses if any as well as planning for future developments depending on the available finances.

Highest Value Tasks I should focus on to get the dream going

Defining my brand

My brand is what the business stands for as well as what the public perceives. In this case, my brand focuses onfresh and healthiest options that most of the fast food markets are lacking.Ith my brand going under the name, ‘Think“ Fast Food,” Think, “Fresh Green,”’ it is evident that the brand explains the real signature behind what customers should expect.

Recruiting employees

This is a vital value task for my business since these are the people that will determine the outcome of the business. If they are well trained and have adequate knowledge of making combinations for instance when it comes to salad making, then customers will come in high number. Employees am talking about in this case are theprofessional chefs who are familiar with preparing green fast foods to bring out delicious outcomes. Another group of employees are those that will serve the customers. Research shows that employees determine the image of the company. Based on this fact, I will have to employ workers that have good morals and know how to treat customers with the utmost level of respect. However, given thefinancial situation and the fact that business is new, I can still consider hiring employees with little experience and get a professional to train them in line with duties they are supposed to carry out within the parameters of my business. In this case, I will have to spend fewer finances as compared to hiring the qualified ones.

Competitive advantage

It is of no doubt that there are multiple fast food businesses all around the country. A good number of these businesses deal with green, healthy foods as well. However, to survive the competition, I will ensure that despite the healthy offerings, taste is a top priority. The food will be served I an amount a bit larger than that of the competitors while the price set lower. The strategy will, however, be used in the first year of the business to pull customers towards, Think Fast Food, Think Fresh Green. This strategy will also help maintain the customers even if the prices change with time. Furthermore, I will ensure that the menu is consistent and is not altered depending on the ingredients that are in the season. Serving food that is fresh and of high quality but at a cheaper price will be affordable to the target market. The food will satisfy their cravings without harming their health. More importantly, the customers having enjoyed the food will end up spreading the news to friends, coworkers, family, and others, thus pulling many customers from the competitors.

How to keep customers coming back

The fact that young people are particularly, drawn to fast foods implies that my business is on the right track. In this case, I will market my business by creating flyers, ads, and billboards near companies and local universities. By so doing, I am at attracting not only millennials but other young demographics. The flyers will have the name and the location of the business, hence making it easy for people to locate the business.  It will further be easy for the demographics to go out of their way and enjoy the delicious food. In other words, to retain customers, I will strive to create a food combination that is of quality and at an affordable price. Tasty food that is at a reasonable price will inspire return visits.

Conclusion

With stiff competition existing on the fast food industry, it implies that my business should be well planned not only to satisfy consumers but improve their health as a whole. Focusing on serving fresh green products to Millennials will imply saving a generation that impacts much on the country’s economy, hence reducing chances of diseases such as diabetes, obesity among others that arise from consuming unhealthy food. The reason for this target audience is that many of them are busy and have little time to plan for their meals.
