Personal Assessment of Strengths

Personal Assessment of Strengths

On finding out about my top five strengths, I was fascinated to establish that there are some strengths that I had in me that I have not conceptualized. An autocratic leader is one who is always adaptable, focused, has a sense of responsibility, and most of all portray the trait of connectedness. With this leadership style, it is possible to establish some of the critical aspects of the character as well as being in a position of leading a group of people given the group dynamics. As a manager, it will be critical to determine some of the factors that affect those under my leadership.

One of the traits that one needs to work on most to be able to deliver effectively is a sense of responsibility. As a leader, there is a need for being responsible for my actions. Another trait that one needs to become a good manager is honesty. A good manager must be honest and trustworthy with those that he has been tasked to lead (Peterson pg. 116). These traits do not have a difference with the strengths that one needs to become a good manager. However, in most cases, it is usually said that leadership is always inborn, but for one to become a manager in whatever capacity, it still requires training. Therefore, the traits of leadership which are reflected in those of management are interrelated in that they are both important traits for getting to achieve some of the desired objectives in the organization.

A strength that I am anticipating to use most in college or future career is responsibility, adaptability as well as that of flexibility. It is essential that within an organizational set-up, one becomes flexible especially the managers so that they can understand various characters in the organization. It is a personal strength that if is lacked by a manager, some of the strategic organizational behavior patterns will be overlooked.
