Persuasion

I feel that a persuasion is an option in some arguments. Persuasion is a critical element in human interaction. Besides, with persuasion, we can build consensus and a common purpose. When persuasion is done well, it is almost impossible to resist. Similarly, most people find it hard to pull off persuasion. A persuasion is an option when the audience does not have trust in you. One will need to persuade the audience to gain confidence and show his/her integrity (Dillard & Shen, 2013). Second, an individual’s reputation depends on their past; therefore, in an argument, one will have to guard his/her reputation. People will believe in the message when it is consistent with the past behavior of the speaker (Dillard & Shen, 2013). Third, a person will change his mind when the message appeals to the norms. A message that does not violate the group’s norms will be accepted.

I think that it is possible to persuade others rationally to believe your message. When persuading the audience, everything is rational at the time of the behavior. The ability to persuade the audience depends on your credibility (Dillard & Shen, 2013). It is hard for most people to separate the message from its author. Speakers with high-credibility tend to influence the audience easily (Dillard & Shen, 2013). Persuasion depends on the audience. Some audience may need a little evidence to be convinced while others may require the speaker to provide a considerable evidence.
