For instance, in the US, there are two major political parties.  This means that the view of the members of the public on various matters is determined by b the party they save. In the Congress, there are representatives from the two major parties, charged with the responsibility of passing laws. This implies that when passing a specific law, the opinions of the members of the congress is put into consideration. The bill supported by the majority of the people is voted into the law, irrespective of whether it considers the needs of the people or not. However, it is not possible for a person to support an opinion which is contrary to the views of other members of the party supported. This implies that all the support of a particular have the same view regarding a particular issue, which determines their support for a specific law. This is a clear indication that political polarization has significant impacts on the modern lawmaking process in the US Congress.

As a result, anybody who disagrees with them is irrational, biased or uninformed. Naïve realism has contributed a lot to the political divide among the American public. Supporters of opposing parties do not recognize the opinions of their opponents, irrespective of whether they have factual evidence or not. In the current world, there are many channels for people to share their political opinions. This implies that people try their level best to fit in the group of the political party they support. This implies that people are not ready to listen to the opinions of other people who do not support the same party. As a result, the political divide in the UU is continuing to increase due to naïve realism. People will do whatever it takes to be associated with the political party they support. All their arguments on various matters are polarized. The strong desire of people to be associated with a particular political party has led to the increased political divide among the US citizens.

From the political ideology and Congress, it is evident that the United States is more divided than ever. Political polarization has been a critical player in the continued division among the citizens in the world. However, the governors argue that we can resolve the problem of polarization by working=g as a central unit and respecting the opinions of other people. They also say that everybody should be part of the solution by recognizing other people holding debates with. However, the resolutions given by the governors are not achievable. It is not possible to change the system in the country when the views of the public and leaders are based on the political party they support. People first need to be sensitized on the importance of communicating the opinions irrespective of the group they belong to. Thus, based on the current political system in the US, the resolutions offered by the three governors to political polarization in the country are not achievable.
