The theoretical context refers to the political science theory introduced in the Rochester text (realism, idealism, constructivism). How well – if at all – do these theories help you understand the phenomena? You are free to utilize theory as you wish, provided the chosen theory (or theories) are used as the basis your analysis, which in turn creates the basis for explanation.
So develop a topic of your own and research it using primary and secondary source material, such as books, academic journals and other similar sources. Information obtained off official websites, such as government sites and internationally-recognized news sources (BBC, CNN, AP, etc.) is obviously acceptable as well.
This essay is expected to be 20+ pages, double-spaced. Standard formats are of course to be observed (standard margins and font size, page numbers, bibliography, foot- or endnotes as necessary). Please be sure to provide the proper citations when quoting a source, but be careful utilizing quotes – they should be used sparingly, if at all.
