The problem that I have experienced at my workplace is the inappropriate use of social media. The organization I was working for allowed its employees to use social media to market the products and services being offered. The problem of using social media network came when I started to use my personal social account to post comments about the organization. The freedom employees get to promote the company through social media also invites negative feedback from customers. The information employee posts on his/her personal social account may also have an adverse effect on colleagues.

My company did not have a robust social media policy, and that is why I had the freedom to share company’s information and damage the reputation of some of my colleagues. The complexity of technology means that companies should have policies in place that would help control misconducts on social media accounts (McGraw, 2014). In a situation of misconduct by a co-worker, the employee will have to take a screenshot to prove the allegation.

I decided to use this topic because of the changing nature of technology. Citing McGraw (2014), organizations use social media to connect with customers and sharing their information. Therefore, it is appropriate to raise such an issue so that companies can devise mechanisms to control the behavior. The challenges I may face while developing this tutorial include making the initial technical decision. Choosing an appropriate development approach and technology is hard. Another challenge is the lack of enough information to include in the tutorial.
