Revolutionary War

In today’s life, the Americans can affirm their stand as devoted patriot’s prior British colonization and during the revolutionary war.  After all, history favors the Americans despite the colonialist side chosen. However, people that lived back then could have chosen a different path as colonialists.  In this paper, I choose the patriot side who supported independence from the British as they perceived British laws on Americans violated the rights of citizens. For example, as patriot taxation without consent, denial of trial for colonists expressed total violation of the Americans who were supposed to enjoy British rights (Jasanoff, 2011).  As a patriot, I perceive living in colonies established by England was a mechanism to blind the landowners not to demand independence from the British. Therefore, denial to enjoy British rights creates an attitude of separation from England and form our own country.

As a patriot, I feel that Great Britain curtailed the attempts of the Native Americans to emphasize on individual liberty.  Also, I feel that that Great Britain wanted to make patriots subjects of the King which transpired to the emergence of the revolutionary war.  For example during the American Revolution, the patriots such as Benjamin Franklin supported the republicanism that led to attaining of independence from Great Britain.  In the same manner, I feel that patriots favor social equality ideas for the craftsmen, poor farmers and small merchants as expressed by the great works of common sense (Jasanoff, 2011).  During the revolutionary war, the patriot’s manifests strong beliefs that focus on the enlightenment of the people through creating strong connections that lead to developing a sense of nationalism.  Therefore, I feel that patriots took the interests of the fellow Americans transpiring to independence and victory of the revolutionary war.
