Rosen’s Argument about Cell Phones

Rosen’s Argument about Cell Phones

In my opinion, Rosen’s argument about cell phones is quite comprehensive. To begin with, Rosen reiterates the evolution of the cell phone. She tries to narrate about the cell phone usage prospects when it was first discovered and years later when many people had now embraced its usage. Rosen has also tried to make a comparison on people from different countries and their cell phone usage trends. This helps in giving an idea of the impact that cell phones have on people in different areas.

Rosen has portrayed cell phones as a necessary evil, and I agree with her in this stance. Cell phones have numerous advantages given the sense of security and convenience that they bring. The sense of security comes in where people can easily seek help while in an emergency situation. Convenience is brought the level of connectivity as it enables completion of numerous activities without the need of physical presence.   Despite these benefits, the use of cell phones can also be detrimental in one way or another.

Given the deterioration in social interactions as a result of cell phones, Rosen points out that it is important to return to genuine sociability and conversations. However, I do not see this happening since people are becoming more detached as the cell phones advance even further.
