Modern media shows and films provide an essential marketing platform for companies to advertise their products to the viewer in order to increase their market share and consequently enjoy higher profit margins. The Saban’s Power Ranger movie is one of the latest films where product placement in a movie is given a central focus and also taken to a whole new level. The movie is about the resilience and determination of five ordinary teens who perform extraordinary actions of saving their small town, Angel Grove, from obliteration by an alien. However, the directors of the movie also integrate the aspect of product placement by showcasing the Krispy Kreme doughnuts with the primary goal of increasing its dominance in the market. The favorite part of the movie on the theme of product placement is when two of the characters, Villain and Rita Repulsa enter one of the local eateries to buy the Krispy Kreme doughnuts in the middle of the confrontation between their colleagues and the alien.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. is an international American company that specializes in the production of doughnuts. The company was founded on July 13, 1937, by Vernon Rudolph in North Carolina as a local grocery store but later shifted to doughnuts business. The company’s value proposition is toserve its customers with the glazed and amazing donut which come with a great smell and better taste. After watching the Power Ranger movie and the central message of the Krispy Kreme doughnuts, I got attracted to the company’s business and its products. My interest in the business will be to act as one of the company’s distributors by opening a small eatery where customers would get the opportunity to consume these Krispy Kreme donuts. My target market will be any person who loves these donuts, whether they are kids, teenagers, or adults. People always like to be associated with excellent and quality things and a doughnut is not an exception. However, most times consumers are unable to access and consume these products simply because of their unavailability due to ineffective distribution channels. Hence, by venturing in the business of distributing the Krispy Kreme doughnuts, consumers’ need of buying and eating the glazed and sweet Krispy Kreme donuts will be enhanced.

Currently, the company has over a thousand different branches spread across different countries across the globe. With its headquarter in Winston-Salem in North Carolina, the company distributes its products ts to customers through supermarkets, grocery stores, convenience stores, and also the company’s outlets. Other countries, however, have different distribution channels. For instance, in India, the firm’s products are distributed through franchisee agreement where outletsoperated by other brands sell the products. The Krispy Kreme Company faces stiff competition from other rival companies thus forcing its management to come up with a unique but effective price strategy. The firm adopts the competitive pricing strategy in which its prices are kept almost similar to those of its competitors. In making the donuts reasonable and pocket-friendly to its customers, the company sells them at relatively affordable prices.

On the aspect of the company’s market valuation, either by the owners or by the sharks, it is correct to state that indeed the company is valid and valuable. For instance, the company received approximately $518.714 million as revenue in 2016 with an operating income of $52.098 million the same year. In 2016, the firm’s net income, total asset, and total equity were estimated at $32.398 million, $342.875 million, and $256. 140 million respectively. These financial valuations indicate that the company is able to adequately profitable to pay its liabilities and debts. Also, these valuations is a proof that the company is worth investing since as a shareholder one is always sure of getting higher dividends annually for every share invested in the company. The Power Ranger movie ended with the five teens succeeding in defeating the alien and ultimately managing to defend their small town from destruction by the alien.
