Burglary, killings, stealing and kidnapping are every day crimes witnessed in the society. Culprits behind these crimes should be taken into custody and justice served to the victims. Forensic science is important in bringing certainty of the details of the crime including the culprits. Among the techniques used in forensic science include DNA testing, foot prints and finger prints. Forensic science however, faces oppositions in that some ideologies show that it comes up with wrong apprehensions of innocent people. On the other hand, scientific studies prove that DNA analysis is effective since each individual has distinct genetic makeup. Biological evidences are highly relied by court cases and might interfere with other factors making them seem irrelevant. Extraneous DNA brings threat to the evidence’s validity but can be prevented by right sample in the DNA analysis.

The idea that DNA analysis might have wrong results that lead to wrong judgment is indeed true but such results arise due to errors made by humans. Besides, these same DNA analyses have successfully led to the uncovering of convictions that are wrongful. Eyewitnesses also contribute to wrong results due to misleading leads. Many studies show that DNA errors lead to the least convictions that are wrongful hence rendering it as a useful method and have prevented most innocent people from spending their lives in jail. Despite of the oppositions of using DNA as a method in forensic science, it still remains very important. Research shows that most cited factors against it mainly revolve around human errors, a problem that is common in techniques based on science. The problems arising from wrong DNA analysis can be avoided by effectiveness in the technique. This technique has room for improvement and is therefore the most suitable technique in forensic science.
