Sustainability and Management Accounting

Sustainability and Management Accounting

This week’s learning experience has influenced my thinking and improved skills. Sustainability and management accounting is one of the topics that are very important in his course. The learning material has made me understand sustainability in the three setups namely economic, social and political. The course work has also helped in knowledge improvement of corporate social responsibility which is an essential activity for organizations. This is because they can give back to society through programs such as helping the orphans or the aged and other programs that improve the living standards of the society. Also, this week’s learning has improved my understanding of concepts such as externalities and environmental management.

This week’s learning topic covered various concepts such as corporate social responsibility and sustainability. Sustainability means the ability to meet the present needs of the people without compromising those of the generations to come (Smith, 2017). The other important is corporate social responsibility which by helping in the improvement of living standards of people makes the society to identify with the organization. Such a concept is applicable as the majority of organizations both the profit-oriented and nonprofit ones engage in such activities. The sustainability concept applicability is, on the other hand, questionable due to limited resources that are not even enough in sustaining the current generation.
