The Best and Worst King in Israel and Judah

The Best and Worst King in Israel and Judah

Josiah was the best king of all times. Josiah became a king in Israel at a mere age of 8 years old. God loved his faith and blessed him. Josiah reinforced the worship of Jehovah as most Israelites had joined the worship of false gods. He also reconstructed the temple of God thus supported the worship of God, and he was loved. On the other side, the worst king is Ahab. He was the worst King of all times; this is because he continuously did wrong in the eyes of the Lord than any other kings who existed before his tenure. He inherited the kingdom when bold but became weak with time. Ahab even encouraged the worship of foreign gods such as Baal and did not adhere to worshiping God. His actions made God punish people with severe famine and drought

Josiah’s favor in the eyes of the Lord is evident in the bible as stated due to his good actions ever since youthful age when he became king and restored the worship of Jehovah “Now before him there was no king like him, who turned to the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the Law of Moses; nor after him did any arise like him” (2 Kings 23-25 King James Version). Moreover, for King Ahab, the bible also justifies his wickedness as a weak king who ordained the worship of Baal and did evil than any preceding king the kingdom “And Ahab, the son of Omri, did evil in the sight of the LORD above all that [were] before him”(1Kings 30 King James Version).
