Introduction

Art has been there over time and has been applied in many forms.  People have over the years expressed their feelings, thoughts, and views by visualizing the inner state.  There have been various styles and mediums that different people adopt in their artistic work. For instance, there is extensive use of paintings, carvings, sculptures and printing. Some of the art is presented in objects bearing drawings while others are on human bodies (Sanders, 2012). The essence of doing art is to express information that is intended to bring emotions and affect the kind of change that people want.

In most cases, the art attains much better results than speech because art is consistent in its message and hardly changes the face. Art and architectural expressions have been changing since the medieval times to the modern 3-D technology. The most important thing concerning this artistic approach is the expression of the inner state.  It is only using art that history can be preserved.

Art on human body

The body writings and decoration serve the purposes of communicating cultures and expressing emotions. It is through this that people can express their desires and communicate their preferences. Art is unique in the sense that the messages that are passed are consistent and express the desires of the artist. The artistic impressions are also a good sign of the times that have passed (Thorne, 2010). In essence, an art is dynamic and changes according to time. Most of the artist impressions represent the times through which change will have occurred in human life. They all signify the transitions over the ages.

Body Decorations

Bodily decorations have been used for a long time. From ancient civilizations, people have been painting their bodies and applying other forms of decorations for the purposes of beautifying their bodies and helping them express whatever is in their hearts and minds. These decorations are in the form of painting, ornaments and body marks. They are all applied on the body for purposes of helping them look attractive and simply for aesthetic value. In most instances, such manner of decorations brings out some form of attachment to the society in which the people live in. It is a kind of identity and people have embraced it the world over (Thorne, 2010). The other reason art is important is that it helps the individuals achieve some form of understanding with each other if they share the same identity. Some religious groups use the messages to come out clear of the situation around them. The decorations also act to fulfill identity issues such as with the utilization of the decorations to identify members of the same religious groups. In most cases, the religious groups have their special way of communicating their ideologies: the use of such body art that serve to represent this. In the recent cases of religious practices, most people have been using body marks and decorations to describe their religious thoughts (Sarbin 2009). For instance, the Indians use body marks on their foreheads and hands to mark their identity and present their mode of worship. In any case, all religious groups have their special way of communicating their ideologies.

The use of these body marks and paintings has been in existence for decades. The Greeks used sculptures and paintings to demonstrate their alignment and worship for the various gods that they had. They all believed that the body marks and symbols would assist them attain some form of identity and fulfill some respect to the deities. It believed that the Greeks were the first people to practice expressive religion. They practiced their form of religion through this kind of art and body marks. The Greeks had a great history of sculpture and architecture. Greek art had great consideration for the human form. Their early art involved the static sculpture which later developed texture and movement.  In the modern days, the Greeks still use the decorations making them the most colorful religious people. Their practices gave way to other new religions that are being practiced in the world (Ewen and Ewen 17).

Impressionism; Cubism

Impressionism and cubism are as a result of the modern day art and painting. There was the need to change from the traditional styles of painting and the desire to express very day life in a new perspective. They were aimed at increasing the impression and drive away from real paintings. Impressionism and cubism creates moods, emotions and logical explorations and structure of the painting.  The art dates back to the ancient European times, where people used art to communicate their ideas through art. In this case, it was using paintings that made them reach out to each other. Most importantly, paintings were done on the human body and through sculptures that resemble the human body. In this case, the communication was to reach out to the people who were targeted.

In the present times, it is important to note that whatever was being communicated through sculptures and body marks borrows a lot from this age of cubism. The people who made the carvings were professionals who were paid to perform these carvings and as such, it enabled the industry to grow sustainably (Sarbin, 2009). Various aspects have been borrowed in the current forms of art. These are in the areas of body painting and sculptures. The most notable forms of art are those that touch on the communicative aspect of art. The body drawings and carvings are all significantly drawn from the times when these people used to be actively involved in the carvings. It is worth noting that the body was used as a form of communication and as such, there was a desire to arrive at a communicative approach to the utilization of the art. The body decorations have always been practiced since then with the aim of communicating the desires of the heart and mind of people (Conway and Livingstone 476).

The Renaissance period of the 18^th century

The 18th-century period witnessed some form of civilization that started in Florence, Italy. The civilization that took place in this part of the world was characterized by the use of art to communicate. The art, in this case, moved from body marks to the physical carvings and further to architecture. The art showed a form of desire for sophistication and desire to appear attractive to others. This art moved to other parts of the world over time, and people have come to embrace the art (Sanders, 2012). Some of the most notable forms of art from the Renaissance period included the use of sophisticated application of facial decorations and nail decorations. To date, these practices have been witnessed being practiced globally. Most of the relative tendencies towards art and its practice the world over are dependent on the styles that were used in Florence during the Renaissance period (Ewen and Ewen 25).

Applications of these forms of art have stood the test of time as the best forms of decorations. It is now a common practice the world over to perform facial designs and decorations in the manner in which the people in the Renaissance period used to perform (Gangwere, 2011). The current forms of art are all better performed using the skill and technology that was used during those days. It is in the best interest of the people doing so that there is a stable form of adopting the culture and the practice so that it also represents the people using them. From the olden days of the Renaissance period, it has been witnessed that people having been modifying their lifestyles to represent that which they have an idea about.

The use of art on the human body is always expected to represent the age of the people as well as their geographical and cultural setting. In all instances, art has been the most utilized tool of identification with people using it to show material used to construct it. Over the years, the use of color and other technological advances have been realized in the post-renaissance era. Use of three dimensions and non-static sculptures has also been evident in the modern art. The modern artistic have brought about new dimensions in the portrayal of a human body. There has been more realistic approach especially in terms of muscles. There is an increased realistic approach where the correct composition and proportion are assumed in human art.

Literary Perspectives of the Body

The human body is can be viewed from literary perspectives. In this case, the body can represent what is best thought of in the sense that people can write up stories about self while at the same time can write about others. On this note, it is imperative to note that humans have a value that can be seen through their body and that the same can be put down in words through writing. The literary aspect of the human body is always centered on the fact that a lot can be written about it. This is best expressed in the areas of romance and love (Sanders, 2012). People describe the people of the opposite gender in an artistic manner such that they reach out to their hearts in the best way possible.

The body also stands out as a literary form in the sense that many books have been written on health, all which touch on the body. The words pelted about the body are a true testimony of how best it can be used in literary terms. In this case, the literature forms spell out what is best regarding maintaining a stable body functioning and looking forward to making people attain the best of health from their lifestyles. This angle sees the body as a vital but vulnerable entity that needs to be protected from any form of harm. Here, it is only the medics and the experts in the medical field who can write about the body. The body also exhibits a literary perspective in the sense that it can be used to communicate. In fact, non-verbal cues and other forms of communication that does not involve the utilization of the mouth are used. This is where human beings use the body to convey messages to each other (Taylor, 2008). Body language can be used independently or with the use of verbal communication. The literary aspect of it is dependent on the skill of the one using it. In this case, it is important to have all the forms of communication that touch on the specific messages that can relay the intended messages. The person communicating ought to be aware of the effect of every mode of communication in such a way that the message gets to reach the destination effectively. The current forms of communication in the world are dependent on how best the person communicating can reach the end recipient in the best way possible. The body thus achieves a literary perspective when the person conducting the communication is efficient enough (Conway and Livingstone 477).

The Scientific Aspects

Scientifically, the body is known in many aspects, documented, and written as such. The scientific dimensions of the life are clear and known through documentation. It is through research and related studies that the people get to understand the science behind life. Two most notable aspects of human life that relate to science are those that touch on psychology and the then other health issues. It is worth noting that these two aspects of health as it help to live a better life when understood.  Psychology is scientific in the sense that it touches on the explainable phenomena of life (Ewen and Ewen 32). For instance, with the presence of the current forms of health, it is clear that psychology is approached best through the scientific platform. Health is also scientific in the sense that it touches on the specifics that are provable through scientific research (Selvini, 2011). This signifies the many instances where drugs are manufactured from the laboratory and that all these are related to the aspect of demonstrable facts. Scientific aspects of life are better studied through continuous efforts that can touch on the specifics and researched data about life.

The body is a representation of many crosscutting scientific aspects. It is in this case that many studies have been done and documented about the body. It is important to note that people who see their lives through scientific eyes are always able to live better than those who do not. This is because knowledge of the unknown assists people to attain some sobriety in the way in which they approach life. Managing this kind of life requires that people face the reality from the concrete results of research done (Sanders, 2012). Research is the best way to attain a full understanding of the hidden facts of human life. It is on this point that the people manage to oversee their lives in a better way than it would be in other terms.

The Scientific Manipulations on the Body

The human body is made of the possibilities of being utilized for scientific purposes. Even thou the medical profession prohibits the use of human specimen for studies, some observational studies are sill permissible on the human body functioning. For instance, when a new drug has been released, a group can be observed closely over a long time as a cohort. The idea behind this study is to ascertain whether any side effects will be reported or not (Da Vinci, 2013). However, the use of dead bodies to perform experiments is much permitted under the medical profession rules. This is fundamental to the advancement of knowledge.
