The internet of Japanese Americans is a historical period during World War II which had a great impact on the Japanese community. After the attack, all people were evacuated to internet camps by the US government, and this drastically changed the Japanese community and family relationships. The Japanese surfed immensely as a result of the evacuation process as there was massive anti-Japanese propaganda aimed at increasing hatred and fear against the Japanese. The internees lived in highly guarded camps where they lived like prisoners.

One of the major impacts of the internet experience is an acute housing shortage among non-Americans. There were increased instances of congestion and overcrowding among the families. Although the government had constructed some houses, they failed to meet the increasing demand and were poorly constructed. The Japanese community just like other non-Americans was victims of the housing shortages experienced during internet period. There was also a notable increase in prosperity especially among the poor who witnessed a substantial increase in their incomes.

Another family adjustment experienced during the internet period is the increase of women workers in the workforce. The internet experience shifted family setting where only men were involved in productive activities. There was a rapid entry of women into the labor force even in the occupations that had earlier been closed to them. There was a substantial increase in the number of married women in the Japanese workforce. Also, there were increased reports of child labor and other abuse amongst the Japanese children. The increasing number of working mothers and fathers exposed the plight of children since most of them grew in the absence of their parents. Cases of increased migrations subjected these children to extreme social and psychological dislocation that significantly affect the family unit.  In essence, the internet period had adverse impacts on the community and family set up of the Japanese community such as divorce, school dropouts, and other social injustices.
